ONEOK Field

ONEOK (pronounced WUN-ohk) Field is a baseball park in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s located in the historic Greenwood district right beside downtown Tulsa. Currently, the field is home to the Tulsa Drillers of the Minor League’s Double-A Central. The venue takes its name from Oneok, Inc., an American corporation focused on the natural gas industry headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Since it opened its doors on April 8, 2010, it has become a focal point for sports entertainment in the city. In fact, ONEOK Field has been home of FC Tulsa of the USL Chamionship since 2015.

Features

The field was designed by architect firm Populous of Kansas City, Missouri. The stadium’s official capacity is just short of 8,000 guests, but is designed to be able to hold 9,000 visitors for special events. It’s record attendance was met on May 7, 2010, when 9,417 spectators saw the Bedlam Series game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State University Cowboys.

The stadium also features 23 suites and a playing field that sits at about 13 feet below street level. The intent was to have the ballpark feel better connected to the urban surroundings than the former ballpark at the fairgrounds. It’s also designed to have amenities and features that are more common at major league ballparks.
